Something ghastly this way comes! Artist Hatboy has recently been posting his latest Tim Burton inspired creations – grim re-imaginings of Japan’s fuzzy little Pokemon creatures that, even today, still manage to remain popular. As an avid Burton (and Elfman) fan, seeing these amazing works just made my day. They come right out from under the christmas tree of Nightmare Before Christmas!

Hatboy has already created 25 of the 151 original Pokemon, including the electric rat Pikachu. Judging by the phenomenal reaction to his work across the internet, I suspect he’ll be making his best efforts to complete the set as quickly as he can. Be sure to check out his Tumblr account to keep up with his latest work. He’s also in the process of getting the art up on his store to sell as prints. For now, I shall just have to remain content satisfying my collector’s urges by diligently trying to catch them all. Enjoy.
