I took my sister to the cinema tonight to see ‘The Village’ (recommended). We had McDonalds and I tried one of their new ‘Salads Plus’ items, which was actually pretty good. The first time I’ve been able to eat McDonalds and not feel sick; well, not counting the stop we made in the minibus after the Duke of Edinburgh’s expedition this July where I bought a burger. But after eating Tesco museli and powdered milk for five days, you don’t really mind whether the food is full of junk ^^;.
I haven’t been doing much lately other than work most mornings to get some overtime pay ready for Japan. Most details for the gap year have been sorted now, but my room is in disarray – even more so than when I was studying for my A Levels. I’ll have to sort it out pretty soon. I’ve been excited over the weekend because I finally got a digital camera as an early Christmas/Birthday present, since I’ll be in Japan at the time. I’ve been playing around with all the settings on it, especially the 3cm (!) super macro mode. (Macro mode is for close-up shots).
So much to do over the next week though… I still have to book the internal flight to Hyogo (my place of residence in Japan), which I’ll try again at 1am this morning. Tomorrow I’m going to Rochester to buy gifts for my hosts in Japan and craft books to entertain the students with and then to Bluewater to pick up a few more items for Japan. I’m off to London on Wednesday with the Japanese group, then Dave’s sleepover on Thursday and Heather’s on Saturday. I have my final injections on Friday, along with my last Medway Youth Parliament cabinet meeting and meeting up with Keiron afterwards to say farewell. I also need to visit Universities if I can before I go so I can get a better idea when re-applying to UCAS and re-write my personal statement. This is all between working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings…Oyy o.O;
Rough tadpole count: 2
Froglet count 1
Froglets released 2
Development: Yay! Froglet number 3 just metamorphed last night. I spend half an hour photographing the little blighter with my *New Olympus c5060 Wide Zoom Digital Camera* (!!) ^_^;. I’ll try to upload the shots soon before I leave for Japan.
Other observations: Food is running very low again now, and the tank is barren and dreary. Only 2 tadpoles remain and 3 or 4 small fish pecking around… My mum suggested I leave the fish in there to grow and see how big they are when I get back. Not sure whether to release the tadpoles and let them face the wrath of ‘Mighty Koi Young’ in the fishpond; I’m sure they’d be devoured in a flicker… o.O;. I’ll release the third froglet tomorrow I think.
