Ice Cubes that Tell Stories

This week’s Omoshiro Zakka (Interesting Items) are quirky ice cubes. If you’ve ever wanted to liven up a boring glass of coke or impress your cocktail party guests, these are for you. There’s even the potential for murder mystery games if you let your imagination loose!

First up, we have ‘Bone Chillers’, a very aptly named product that seems guaranteed to send a shiver down the spines of your friends, or at least bring out the pirate in them!

Coming with both grinning skulls and matching crossbones, I’d be liable to use them in making a parody when serving poison-lined whisky.

And don’t forget their cousin, the fish skeleton ice cubes:

Following that, we have ‘Stone Cold’. Those spooky Easter Island heads. Why you’d want them in your soda is beyond me, but there they are, staring blankly back at you while you contemplate your life. You could get strangely philosophical by watching their empty gaze melt away into your drink…

Oh yes! Here’s one for the retro fans. ‘Ice Invaders’. They came from outer space but tragically melted away before zapping the human race. Be careful they don’t give you brain freeze though.

And last we have ‘Frozen Smiles’. If you ask me, these things are freakier than the skulls. Imagine if the freezing wads of ice began chattering away at you in the cold depths of your drink. Hmm.

Find more cool ice cubes listed here on this site (which I happened to find after looking up all the above ice cubes separately! Always the case…)

And those looking to buy – anywhere! They seem to be ubiquitous and I’m not entirely sure this week’s products are from Japan. Well, there’s Space Invader references, so that should be enough to appease you. :)
