I’m currently transferring all my files across hard disks since I bought a new 120 Gigabyte one yesterday to replace my dodgy 60G one. So all I can do is watch them as they transfer and try not to interfere with the process too much. I also bought a TV Card and a new microphone. Hopefully Rob and I will be able to get this voice recording thing set up soon and have a bit of fun then. The TV Card should enable me to record all those anime shows building up on VHS to my computer so I can re-use them. I do believe the software is powerful enough to create DVDs of the shows as well, if i had a DVD writer that is…
I really should start doing more schoolwork. I think it’s gotten to the point where I don’t do anything at home anymore o.O. Saying that though, I have been catching up more recently, so it’s not all bad.
I have at least 3 outings this week: On Wednesday a MYP Committee metting. Friday, the MYP Parliament meeting and then on Saturday an ice skating gathering. It almost seems surreal when I consider how little I got out at this time last year. It just goes to show how much joining a new club can do; I mean, you could maybe even class me as – *gasp* – having a social life now.
I’ve been looking around at diaries on trips to Japan on the internet. I plan to make sure I document every aspect of our trip in the Summer so that I can create a travelogue of all the pictures and thoughts. Should be a great memory to look back on in years to come ^_^. But what am I saying? We’ve gotta plan it properly yet…
Oh yea, and R.S lessons got even more interesting because we now have to answer the register in an animal voice. Don’t ask me why Mr. Broomfield suggested it, but it’s pretty damn funny regardless ^^;. And I finally learned Buddha’s real name (and spelling o.O;) is Siddhartha Gautama. I never took the time to look is up and memorize it before, which, while I’m on the subject is something I was talking with Rob about today. Generally I need to sit down and learn ‘general knowledge’ facts for them to stick, whereas it would seem that most people can just acquire them a lot more easily just by hearing them on and off. Does anyone have any insight on this; the psychology behind it/their own experience?
I think the real reason is cos you don’t watch as much TV as a couch potato like me-how else would you learn who Morecambe and Wise were? You seem to remember stuff well in my opinion-but you have to know it to begin with.

Interesting. I generally have to keep things quite fresh in my memory as well, otherwise I begin to forget them. I have a very good short term memory though, so cramming usually works for me…providing I get a good night’s sleep.
Oh, and what *were* you doing on the 4th of June 2002? :P

Hmmm. It may be controversial, but I think some people are better at remembering things than others. For example, Wai-sun cannot remember any dates, and I believe her when she says that she has some sort of mental block as far as this is concerned. Personally I can remember lots of things. Such as what I was doing on 4th June 2002. Sometimes I have to try, but other times I can just pick it up. So, I think what I am getting at, is that I think that it may be something that you are predisposed to.
