Surfing on the gentle hum of air

My computer is in a state of stability! (he says, praying not to jinx it…) All that remains for me to is modify the graphics card cooler with a quieter one and I shouldn’t hear anything from my box at all. Then just more software installations, although the drivers are bound to throw up some conflicts – I can see it now… I’d best make the most of a trouble-free existence for this one evening. Hence, I’m currently surfing the internet with a discreet whoosh in the background and typing on the Japanese keyboard I picked up before I left Akihabara. I managed to configure it and I can now type in both languages at the click of a button ^_^! す~ごい、ね?

Tomorrow both my parents are heading off to Antigua for 2 weeks, followed by a spell in nearby St. Lucia for another week. My Dad has been showing me a few things, like changing fuses for the lights, how to turn off the water if there’s a plumbing problem, re-light the boiler if it goes out and giving me a pair of goggles and mask to use while cutting the grass *groan* o.O;. The one thing my hayfever was good excuse for not doing; obliterated by a most fetching pair of plastic lab specs…

Hopefully now my computer is on the move, I can stop finding 2.00-3.00am bedtimes and get back into a sensible sleeping pattern. I seem to be in a bizarre state of jet-lag limbo, having established a routine of sleeping between 2.00am and 9.00am, but not back into a normal sleep phase.

Today I’ve been fixing my home network and trying an old RPG game I bought from Ebay: ‘The Longest Journey’. Ahh, the old point ‘n click adventure game. Brings back the days of Monkey Island and vanquishing ghost pirates with root beer… Considering how well-rated this game is, I’m surprised it got by me those 5 years ago. A ‘sequel’ is due out this Autumn, too.

Anyway. Tomorrow I’m in Chatham for another appointment at the Opticians to see how my contact lenses are working (I can’t say well, with my hayfever and all.) I’m meeting Keiron in the morning beforehand to catch up. Hopefully soon I’ll set a date for the sleepover – bear with me ^_^.

(I’m aware my last few mood tags have either said either ‘tired’ or ‘hot’. Definitely need to get sleep.)

It’s unlikely… I have something planned that afternoon, although it might fall through, I can’t say (it’s due to flights being cancelled and such). I was thinking about hosting my sleepover on Wednesday this week – are you free then? Would you happen to know if Lianne and Simon are back yet?

Hey, just on the offchance you’ll read this before tomorrow when I’ll be phoning round, are you free Sunday? (With any luck) There’s going to be a gathering at my place, and you can stay over and stuff. Hope you can make it!
